I need to trace this image in blue line to prepare for laser cutting, but I have no idea how to get the curves of this shape. Any ideas? Is there an auto-trace function in AutoCAD that traces it for me? Thanks very much!

I'm using AutoCAD 2011.

Attach image in Autocad and use polyline command for trace in contour. Start with polyline in a line direction, when you found arc, digit Arc for pass to arc mode and pick on point for trace curve, for return to line mode digit Line.

If you have many curves, use polyline command and trace only lines (no arc mode), when you finish write PEDIT command, select polyline and write Fit-curve subcommand, then transform polyline in several arc.

Other command is SPLINE but I think is very hard check control points.

Only Autodesk Raster Design has autotrace function on raster image: you pick in a middle of raster line and Autocad draw polyline follow contour.

cigar-shape that is tapered at the ends and has a structure on top. That's basically what a submarine looks like. I'm a military fiction author and my book counterpart is a high-ranking submariner.

Every time i post a question, even if it is the easiest one, they cannot offer me a good informed answer . Wtf happened to people that actually take the time to answer??
