"The design field has many different facets, from interior and set design to clothing design, jewelry design and wedding design. I've studied visual arts & media which was pertaining to the Photography and Filmmaking aspect of art creation. Art can be digital to print and all that's in between. Good Luck!

Wrong mix of words....high paying and art. Even high paying and college doesn't always work anymore. Best bet is to stay in school, try a bit harder, pay attention to details (like spelling, especially when spellcheck s available) because that's what high paying employers are looking for...good communicators, whether art or engineering. Only real answer to your question, and the scenario you've painted, is to become an art thief with a good fence.

Well, I have a relative who's a graphic designer. She works for a large printing firm that designs brochures and other materials for customers.

Advertising firms use artists and graphic designers, as do magazines and publishers. They have art departments or contract out their requirements.

These days, you need a lot of familiarity with computer design programs and software to use art professionally in the commercial world.
