How to make a transparent background in illustrator?

I have made a logo in photoshop to be printed on t-shirts, i have previewed the logo so far and there is a white box around it. How do i create a transparent background after live tracing the image????

Select the white (after expanding the trace) and delete it.



If you are printing them yourself onto iron on transfer paper then white will not print (unless you have an expensive printer with a spot white channel).

Use the pen gadget and draw course around the image, then make a mask(below the object menu) yet till now you're making the mask decide on the two and the patch you made and that's in certainty all haha.
