Kay, so I don't have administrator rights so I can't download corel paint shop pro or photoshop. There are a lot of good online editors such as Sumopaint but I have no idea how to color! I'm 13 and everyone else's pictures are so nicely drawn and colored- I want to make a lineart of this:

but I have no idea where to start!

I also tried to color this with Sumopaint:

but i can only do the skin T^T

HELP PLZ???

Without good photo editing software, even the free kinds like Paint.NET or GimpShop, it's difficult to get good quality results. However, to achieve the look you want in the program you currently have, there are a number of techniques (some costly, some not) you can resort to.

One is purchasing a tablet. This is a big buy, and should only be made if you are serious about graphic art. In essence, it is a mouse that is shaped like a pencil and can therefore draw directly onto your screen. Coloring and such would be made much easier with this tool.

The free alternative is much more time-absorbing. You'd have to SCAN your image (not take a picture of it) so that the shading of your paper doesn't change...the white part of the paper should be the same throughout. Using your current software, you'd have to go through pixel by pixel to color over the lines of your drawing to a stark black color. From there, it will be much easier to select only the white areas and DELETE them. Then, you can color behind the remaining lines, and finally reduce the contrast of those same strokes. Your result will have taken a much longer time, but will be beautiful.

I'd highly suggest finding a way to get more advanced photo software, or just do some old fashioned coloring. :)

Just experament, thats what I did. Sure, it took a little while, like 2 or 3 days but it's worth it! If that doesn't work go on DA and look up some tutorials.

try getting GIMP.

i used it on a project for a design class.

it is fun to figure out.

i got the best results from free drawing on a clean sheet of paper scanning it then using the GIMP features to do all kinds of stuff

I hope this helps!

Good luck!
