growing up my best friend and I both loved to draw. We found there were phases where he would draw alot better, then he would show me what he had tried and after a few months I would build on that and I would be better. It kept going back and forth like that but because we always compared notes and showed each other different techniques we grew together.
Ask your friends what kind of approach they take to get the results they do. Try to apply those ideas to your work and build on them.
The two of us used to make really horrible comics together which really helped us learn as well, you could suggest all of you start working on a group project together for fun, and help each other grow.
My favorite website for art advice over all is www.conceptart.org, it's not limited to anime but drawing techniques translate from style to style and there are sure to be some great ideas there on ways you can improve.
The most important thing is to be aware of your weaknesses and work to improve specific things. If you are bad at hands, look up tutorials, copy other drawings or practice drawing your hand. spend a week or two working on just that aspect and it will really help. The next week choose another thing like planting the feet on the ground. how can you make your characters look like they're standing on something or sitting on something. It's alot easier to focus on one thing at a time then to try to learn to draw everything all at once.
