I am planning on drawing my own comic series. What is the best brand of art markers? Also, are there any lower budget markers of good quality available? I have used Prismacolor Premier Double Ended Art Markers, and really like the quality but they are pricey. Thanks for any advice.

lol yep crayola=cool , especially for colouring.. my favourite art pens are called Artline, for both normal pens and fineliners. They are made by a company called Shachihata, and sometimes by a company called Pelikan. Where I am you can buy them in department stores and almost any supermarket..

I couldn't really recommend Sharpie markers as they say they are permanent but in my experiences they just aren't. And the keyring ones always come unclicked grrr hehe.. anyhow they are kind of halfway between a permanent and a non permanent. Maybe they should call them semi permanent or something, as their current description I feel to be wrong.

Here's the link to a site that lists a whollllllle bunch of artline stuff:

http://shopping.yahoo.com/s:Pens,%20Pencils%20&%20Markers:4168-Brand=Shachihata

And here's the artline site: http://www.artline.com.au/Pages/Category.aspx

Hope this helps :)

Hello, The Blick Studio Markers were designed to be an artist grade illustration marker similar to that of Prismacolor Double Ended Markers or the Copic Markers. They have a similar double ended feature with a chisel tip on one side and a bullet point for fine detail work on the others. These are an alcohol based ink so they will work on paper and other porous surfaces or on non-porous surfaces such as plastic or acrylic sheets. Because of the alcohol base they are waterproof and are considered fade resistant. Don't let the considerably lower price fool you, these markers are just as good as the other brands. For filling in large areas of color, markers are a great option. They can also be used with other dry or drawing materials for a mixed media effect. The Blick version also has the colorless blender, like some of the other brands, which can either be used prior to applying color to the surface of the paper or after the color is laid down to help blend edges. I would give markers a try if you want your finished artwork to look smoother and more blended.

Crayola Supertips. They work thin and thick, for when you need both, they have scents(five of them), and they really do the job. They aren't just really pricey either. I hope your comic series turns out good and hope you pick a good marker brand.

Copic Markers are the best, but they're pretty expensive. Made in Japan though, you can't beat that.
