There are a number of different programs that architects use to render buildings. Some of the most common are Revit and SketchUp with Kerkythia.

the most common and basic one is GoogleSketchup. It is free to download and is a very handy and useful tool to design anything from shoes to multistory buildings...

a more complex one is AutoCAD... i recommend u only try this if u have proper training and instructions of working with it. This particular tool is very strong and can often be the reason for computer crashes....

others like 3D max, Maya, Blender, etc are available also...
