I'm taking a basic graphic design class for media arts and i had to design a basic business card for a fake asian vetarinarion using a tangram (chinese puzzle using shapes). I initially planned on using a turtle with a design i had planned out, but i couldn't find the tangram i wanted. This was sorta last minute. If you were a teacher what grade would you give me?

You have made an obvious choice of a faux asian typeface for the name, you already have the asian aspect covered with the tangram. However, the tangram does somewhat resemble a vulture maybe try moving the head triangle up and back slightly, maybe separate or outline the pieces so that one can see it is a tangram.

As has already been said there are too many typefaces at work here, pick one typeface and use that (don't choose the faux asian or the brush script). You have two blocks of text the name and the address and on illustration, you need to achieve a composition with them at the moment they sit as three elements all crying for attention.

I'm a teacher (arts/design in the NL) and i'd say you should move the logo more away from the side and leave some space, and you use a lot of diffrent fonts. In other words, there are a lot of loose standing elements but no unity, try to make it a whole piece.

What about a bird-like first letter of a name or a shadow of the bird dropping on the card to close the gap between the pic and the letters.

in case you're any sturdy, aruond £60 in line with hour. in case you're only attentive to utilising photoshop etc and purely place issues, around £25 in line with hour. you will desire to in no way supply a blanket cost for a job becuase some take plenty longer than others and you will desire to conceal for this. communicate to the shopper till now hand an get an theory of what's in contact, and then artwork out how long and a value.

i really like the graphic and the top font but i think the more round font underneath ruins it . great job though! 8
