How to you normally go about finding reference images. Do you download pics individually from random sites or is there a place you can download huge packs of them?

In art school we were prohibited from using images off the internet...you had to take your own images. However, If I want say - a fly in my pic, I will look at flys online or in a book. If you use someone else's image and get paid for it, it is plagerism. In order for it not to be, you would have to alter it by like 80 or 90%. So, if you are going to use someone else's image, reverse it, crop it, and change the colors MINIMUM. I'd alter the composition as well. Then you have "appropriated" the image, rather than steal it.

Type what you are looking for in the search box.the search choices will come up for the word.
On that page you will have a place to choose to look for images of that word only. Some even have a choice for the size of the images, large ,medium,or small. Also if you right click on the picture after you open it up.The computer will ask you if you want to save it to your computer. If you do you can always come back to that picture and print it out for references or just look at it.Yes search for clip art.Look to see if you need to pay for the images and order a CD.They also have free images to find and use.The graphics fairy is one of them, she has tons of stuff to down load and use..free

I usually type in something random on the net, or I take pictures with my camera to use references.
