try another way;

After you've finished your drawing(ink-colored)

Find a picture of an old paper in the internet to use as background

Import that picture under your drawing(the old paper picture layer must be below the drawing layer)

Then change the blending mode of your drawing layer to Multiply(if you want, you can adjust the opacity, duplicate the layer etc).

Cleaning: you can remove unwanted variables in the old paper(like dots, lines etc that have negative effect on the character) by copying a clean area, or by blur brush or something like that.

First-class font, Blackadder Print or write for your 'map' then crumple right into a ball, flatten and recrumple, do it once or twice. Then soak in a great centred coffee soak. I use a couple of spoonfuls into a small amount of scorching water in a shallow dish (I do labels for witches jars for halloween). Lay it flat to dry and resoak if you would like it. Even as it's nonetheless moderately damp you can are attempting burning the edges, ripping and tearing works as good though paper most effective will tear effortlessly in a single course. Do a scan run or two just to be certain that you could get the influence you wish to have.

Burn the edges with a lighter and stop burning when your satisfied. Then get alot of coffee (about 3 table spoons depending on how brown you want it to be) an pour it in a bowl with boiling water. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then take the paper to a ln area that it won't matter if it gets stained, such as the back porch or somewhere and evenly pour the liquid over the paper, not directly on top, but from one end. Let it run down and then hang up the work to dry. Be mindful that it will run so if you don't want streaks, leave it flat for a while before hanging. Remove it from the puddle of coffee, obviously :)

First carefully tear and/or singe the edges of the paper so that it's not a perfect rectangle. Then crumple it up. Brew some dark tea and pour it in a bowl, and then soak the paper in the tea for no more time than it takes to dye the paper. Then take it out, allow to dry, unfold and you've got a distressed letter.
