I am attending a CPCC community college and I still cannot makeup my mind about what career I should pursue if I like to draw. What should I major in? If anyone has been in the same situation, please let me know what you did or if you have a job that involves drawing tell me about it and how you like it. I would prefer having a career that I could go anywhere in the world and find a job. What is the average salary that you can get working in such a field? Thanks a lot and God bless you.

It is most likely that you will need an additional qualification depending which field you would like to work in. There are lots of industries that require drawing skills, but it's best to look at them all, decide which you like the sound of, and then focus on adjusting/ adding to your qualifications to get you there.

Anything in the arts is likely to be highly competitive, so you need to give yourself the best head start you can.

The following might give you a starting point, but if you want some more ideas, try the Careers in Art page on www.female-artists.net.

- Artist

- Art Teacher

- Graphic Designer

- Landscape Architect

- Architect

- Textile Designer

All of these would require some further training ideally (apart from 'artist' if you're extremely lucky, highly talented and have some really good connections).

Remember to stay determined - it's a tough environment in which to find work at the outset, but if it's what you love then I'm sure you'll find a way to do it somehow!

Hope this helps and wishing you all the best in your future career.

There are many jobs out there that involve art. If you like teaching and if you are patient that you would be a good art teacher. Being an art teacher is really fun, but, i should warn you, does not pay very well. Teachers get and medium salary. Another great job is an artist for the newspaper and magizines. This job will require you to find out more about things and paint things for newspapers. You could always look up more answers, but these are mine! :)

Remember--Don't only study art! Even if you are gonna become an artist, you NEED math in life! Take at least 3 math courses!

Hoped this helped!

If you are an accomplished typist - word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects. An average weekend income is about $300-$400 for two days work. Good luck!
