In Adobe Illustrator -- the pencil tool and brush tool are over-simplifying my paths, help please?

You know how when you draw with the pencil tool or the brush tool, they simplify the line you just made the moment you pick up your pen (on a tablet)? Well I feel like they simplify the path WAY too much. I will draw these nice accurate lines with subtleties and when I lift my pen off the tablet Illustrator simplifies it into a sloppy line that cuts all the corners.

Is there any way to adjust how much these tools simplify the paths you make with them?

Double click the brush or the pencil tool and you will get options. Fidelity is the distance the tool has to travel before it creates an anchor point on the path. The lower the number the more faithful to your drawing. Also there is smoothing which simplifies the path removing anchor points. Keep the numbers up if you want to make a graceful line, bring the numbers down to keep your details.

I have the exact same problem, I just use Photoshop instead. It would always smooth out the strokes when you pick up the pen on the tablet. I don't know how to fix it, I just use Photoshop now
