I think I want a drawing tablet for Christmas, but I don't know what kind. I need it cheap, meaning under 80 bucks. I'm 14 and I want to excell in my art career; it's what I'm majoring in. What's a good tablet for me?

Check out Wacom, that is the most popular tablet on the market. Wacom is suppose to be superior to all the other tablets. Here is the system for their newer models, which you can see on Wacom's official site:

Wacom Bamboo Pad (512 pen pressure).

Wacom Intuos (1024 pen pressure).

Wacom Intuos Pro and Wacom Cintiq (2048 pen pressure). Only the Cintiq has a screen. Drawing tablets with a screen is very expensive.

The higher the pen pressure the better the quality. If you buy an older Wacom model on another site, be sure to check the pen pressure levels because they are different from the newer models. Monoprice tablets are cheap tablets that have gotten good reviews also. Go to youtube site and search the following words. These two videos will help you pick out a great tablet:

80 bucks is definitely a small budget. You can find a second hand wacom bamboo tablet for about that price. You'll have to scour ebay and other sites like amazon to find one. Wacom products are the safest to use because most operating systems support them.

If you do manage to find one, then you'll have to think about software to use with the tablet. At the moment there specials on software like Smith Micro's "Sketchbook Pro". They are on special at the moment for about 50 dollars. It's the full version so you don't have to worry about anything.

Free software is normally only available for you to use for 30 days. That includes Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro, and other similar software. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Honestly if you really want to get into drawing don't get the small intuos or a little bamboo. I have a median sized intuos which is SO MUCH better. If you get something small you're going to risk hurting your wrist drawing in a cramped little space and possibly getting carpel tunnel. Try to save up to get an intuos median which is $199.99. I know it sounds pricey but trust me, if you're going to drawing constantly a small $80 is going to hurt. I'm not trying to say that an $80 isn't good, but in the long run it's going to be worth it.

Coming from a 28 Year old female with 8 tats I have never been knocked out nor drunk or on anything else while getting ink. However on the tender spots I have found that talking to the artist or friends nearbye helps with the bad spots. Also deep breathing can help a great deal.

You can get the Wacom Intuos Pen for $79; but I'd recommend getting the Intuos Manga; it's only $99. You can also find used and new Bamboo's on eBay. Wacom is an industry standard; I suggest starting out with it.

you can get a cheap android tablet for under $100 and buy a targus touch screen stylus because i downloaded a free app called sketchbook but the pro is $3 i think i have a new lg g2 5.2" phone and it works with it. im not trying to sell or affiliate anything just personal experience. or at staples for $40 its called a boogie board paperless 7" slate lcd with a pencil shaped stylus and when you draw on it it looks like chalk but its so cool but you cant save the drawing or take a picture of it and press the erase button to start fresh i like the thing though i used it at staples and its nice for the money accept you can save the drawings i might get it for hannukah. they have it at staples. i agree with the wacom tablet too because i really want one.
