What I have done is studied immensely other people's styles...eye shapes, the way they draw the hair, how the body is formed, and from that came up with my own sort of manga-ish style. Also, it is always good to use good paper. Don't draw on computer paper...if you don't have an artist's sketchbook, get one. The paper does make a lot of difference in how the picture turns out.

Well, there isn't really any specific way to draw manga, you sort of have to develop a technique on your own. But here are some basic guidelines. 1. Start basic. Go with a main structure, even a stick figure, and then give it more detail as you go along. 2. Make your image flow. Drawing people in too-stiff a position makes them look like a barbie doll on botox. Don't be afraid to give the body the slightest bit of contour, even if that means bending it out of shape. 3. Adjust for perspective! Anything that's "closer" to the eye make bigger, and anything that's further make smaller. Adjust lengths of arms, legs, etc. to get that almost 3-D effect.

Use graph paper. You wouldn't have thunk it but it makes it so much more easy.
